The Raspberry Pi TV HAT allows you to receive digital terrestrial TV broadcast systems which include DVB-T and DVB-T2 on a Raspberry Pi.
With the board, you can receive and view TV on a Raspberry Pi or create a TV server that allows you to stream received TV over a network to other devices. The TV HAT can be used on all Raspberry Pi boards when running as a backend (server for other devices on the network). Performance, when receiving and viewing TV on a Pi, can vary and it is recommended to use a Raspberry Pi 2, 3 or 3+ to do this.
The board comes with a set of mechanical spacers, a 40-way header and an Aerial adaptor. The Raspberry Pi TV HAT is a DVB-T2 Digital TV receiver add-on for the Raspberry Pi, compatible with the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ or Raspberry Pi Zero W(and older Raspberry Pi 2 & 3 models)
The TV HAT can be used on all Raspberry Pi boards when running as a backend (server for other devices on the network),however, when receiving and viewing TV directly on a Raspberry Pi it is recommended to use a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+(or older Raspberry Pi Model 3) to do this.
The TV HAT features a Sony CXD2880 TV tuner supporting DVB-T and the second generation DVB-T2 TV standards.
